We are a small, dedicated team producing award-winning organic cheese in beautiful West Wales. Our work is hands-on, practical, and rooted in sustainable farming and traditional methods.

WORK EXPERIENCE (Schools / Under 16)

We occasionally offer short work-experience placements for school students, typically aged 14–16.

These placements provide a realistic insight into working on an organic dairy farm and in a small food production business.

What students may experience

  • Helping with simple farm tasks

  • Observing cheese production

  • Assisting with packing or preparation

  • Learning about organic farming and animal welfare

  • Working as part of a small team

Please note:

  • Work is practical and sometimes muddy

  • Students must be physically able to work outdoors

  • Strict health and safety rules apply

  • Placements are limited and fill quickly

  • We cannot provide accommodation

*A parent or guardian must complete the application form.

We welcome volunteers through the WWOOF programme and similar schemes for people interested in organic farming, food production, and rural life.

This is a live-in opportunity offering a genuine experience of life on a working dairy farm.

WWOOF / LIVE-IN OPPORTUNITIES

Experience is helpful but not always essential — training can be provided.

What the work involves

Typical activities may include:

  • Farm tasks and animal care

  • Cheese production assistance

  • Packing and cleaning

  • General maintenance

  • Seasonal outdoor work

  • Work is physical and can take place in all weather conditions.

What you should know

  • We are in a rural area with limited public transport

  • A reasonable level of fitness is required

  • Basic English is helpful for safety reasons

  • Minimum stay: 4 weeks
